This beautiful little piece was a blast to paint! I love doing slightly surreal pieces and this was more about color than realism. This is inspired by the real Elephant Rock structure in Sedona, Arizona which is only a few minutes from my home.
Can you see the little trunk poking up in the air on the left side of the painting? The head is to the right of that. And depending on how you see it, the larger structure to the right of that can represent either a large elephant ear (like African elephants have) or the body of the elephant. Either way, what fun!
