I Found My Mojo! "Golden Cougar" - #14 of 65 Paintings in 65 Days
November 21, 2016
This Golden Cougar is peering curiously around a tree trunk, trying to make out exactly what you are!
Being down sick for so long definitely affected my mojo! Or inspiration. Or muse. Or however you describe it. I just couldn't get it together, then had several events, one on top of the other which further suppressed and interfered with my ability to paint. So I worked around it!
I brought about 30 different tubes of acrylic paints with me to the Firing Pin Enterprises show I recently attended and actually painted while I manned my booth! It was VERY satisfying to be able to complete these pieces, as well as draw peoples interest to what I was doing.
It was great fun to visit with so many people and see old friends, many of whom complimented my work. This was the first time I displayed at this type of show (gun show) and there was definitely another learning curve.
Golden Cougar is first of several paintings I will be doing on "wood Slices." It is a wonderful medium to paint on however, it is also very thirsty and drinks the paint up! I have to paint quickly to be able to do the smallest bit of blending.
