Well, I hope this means I'm back! I have spent the last 2.5 years as a council member on the Cottonwood City Council and the year 2018 as the Vice Mayor. I ran an election to get re-elected, which I did! I received the most votes received by any candidate. Then a couple months following the election, felt I needed to devote myself to more fully to my husband, which entailed moving out of the City, meaning stepping down was required.
It was a very rewarding time and taught me a lot. Most things were amazing and marvelous, some less so, being the darker side of politics. It required all my attention which unfortunately meant my art took a back seat. I believe I stepped down at the right time and am now ready to get back to what I love, the business of art!
My first exhibition since stepping back into this wonderful world of creativity, will be on April 25, 26, 27, 2019, where I will be one of few vendors selected to participate in the Verde Valley Birding and Nature Festival. I will have a booth the Dead Horse Ranch State Park from 8am to about 4pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The festival continues on Sunday, but it is slow for vendors so we are encouraged to only attend the first 3 days.
I will be updating my website over the next week or so and hope to those that can make it, at the festival!
